Patch – ‘Gratitude Is The Answer’: Woodmere Woman Reflects On Breast Cancer Journey After Four Years Cancer-Free
The New York Proton Center (NYPC) was recently featured in the Five Towns Patch highlighting the inspiring story of Haley DeSetta, who is four years cancer-free following her 2021 inflammatory breast cancer diagnosis.
At 31, Haley underwent comprehensive cancer treatment that included chemotherapy, mastectomy, and proton therapy at NYPC. Working closely with Dr. J. Isabelle Choi, Director of Research at NYPC, Haley chose proton therapy to effectively treat her cancer while protecting her heart.
“Haley was an exceptional patient to work with—thoughtful, resilient, and deeply engaged in her care throughout the treatment process,” Dr. Choi said.
Today, Haley is thriving and reflects on her journey with gratitude, crediting her experience with bringing clarity and purpose to her life.
